Yes—in locations experiencing rapid growth in renewable generation or large electricity demand, secure grid access can become more valuable than inexpensive land. Malaysia still needs suitable land, but land without a viable connection is not an energy project; a smaller or more expensive site beside a strong, timely connection may be considerably more valuable.
Land is visible and can be optioned early, while grid capacity is dynamic, conditional and harder to verify. As connection points become congested, competition may shift from acquiring the cheapest land to securing sites with credible access to substations, transmission corridors and timely network reinforcement.
